10th Anniversary

Today, 16th June 2010, marks the 10th anniversary of the official opening of the refurbished old school building and to celebrate the occasion a barbecue will be held on Saturday 26th of this month at the school premises.
The past ten years have seen the group make significant progress and what was once an eyesore along the main road is now a recognisable landmark and a focal point where people from the area can come together.
The group is currently researchibg and recording the history of the area going back 100/150 years and is keen to have old photographs, postcards, paper cuttings and any items of hisorical interest for inclusion in a publication which we hope to complete by Autumn 2011. We have recently learned that The National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund has agreed to finance this publication and we look forward to working with them over the coming months.
You are invited to come along to the free barbecue and entertainment on Saturday 26th. Children served from 6 p.m. and adults between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. There will be a bouncy castle for the children.
