Field trip to Lenamore

On Saturday 7th November 2009 members of the group joined in an information gathering trip to Lenamore to learn something of the history of the settlement and its people. The facilitator for the event was Dr Wes Forsythe, lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Ulster, who gave an insight into what life would have been like during the late 19th/early 20th century. Local man Donal Boyle, adviser with Environment & Heritage Service, also contributed to what was a most enjoyable afternoon. We thank Dr Forsythe and Donal for giving of their time and we also extend our thanks to Mary K O'Kane and Ann McNicholl for the welcome refreshments at the conclusion of the afternoon.(Please visit photo gallery)
